Summer Show & Tell Gallery posted June 26, 2009In this edition of the Show & Tell Gallery highlights the work of two inspiring artists: Doris Eaton whose work and commitment to stretching her own creative boundaries has inspired many hookers and exhibitions including the creation of Art Hits the Wall; and Anne Kirby who still considers herself a fairly new hooker and whose prolific designing and hooking in ‘traditional pictorial’ style has captured the heart of her home province Newfoundland.

Treetops & Fireflies: A Doris Eaton Highlight
Below are images generously shared by Doris Eaton of some of her works over the years. Her approach captures a sense of spontaneity, reverence for nature and a willingness to experiment in colour, technique and style to find her voice. And this unique voice is evident in every work and has inspired the next generation of hookers new to the craft. She is known not only for her incredible works of art, but also for her equally unmeasurable generousity in sharing advice, techniques and learnings from a place of humble experimenter. This collection of images is just a sampling of hopefully more to come as a book on her life and art is currently in the making.
